This allows the developer to begin the construction process without having to rely on a percentage of pre-sales to make the project feasible. These properties are then reserved for exclusive purchase by first home buyers and ‘second chancers’ – former homeowners who are in the same financial position as a first home buyer. This means fixed prices, no auctions, and no going up against investors or overseas buyers.

Navigating the KiwiBuild process

While the KiwiBuild process may seem daunting at first glance, it’s becoming a simple process to purchase a KiwiBuild home. Some properties are still available via ballot, however many are now able to be purchased directly from the developer, including our Panmure apartments. Financial pre-approval is also no longer a requirement.

Make sure you’re eligible for KiwiBuild

As long as you meet the eligibility criteria of being a first home buyer, earn $120,000 or under for a single buyer, or $180,000 or under for more than one buyer, and are a New Zealand Citizen, permanent resident, or hold a resident visa and are ordinarily resident in New Zealand, then you are able to purchase through the KiwiBuild programme.
