how long after buying can you switch back to regular kiwisaver contributions

i've been contributing extra to kiwisaver to build up the balance. once i withdraw for my first home do i have to wait before i can start saving into it again?

Yeah you can start contributing again straight away, there’s no stand-down period or anything like that. Once you’ve done your withdrawal, your KiwiSaver just goes back to normal and you can adjust your contributions whenever you like. You’re on a good track thinking about this though, because your goal shifts pretty quickly from “build a deposit” to “long-term retirement savings”. A couple of things worth thinking...
